$5 FRIDAY

2 for $5 Cold Stone Girl's Night Out!

My wonderful Grandma has sent me $5 a week with coupons since I graduated High School.
$5 Friday is to document what I do with my cherished $5.

I took a friend to Cold Stone. We took advantage of their 2 for $5 deal.
We stayed there talking until after closing. It was a great "Girl's Night Out".

Thank you, Grandma!

What can you do with $5?

Washing Wednesday

Laundry...........yuck.

"I hate laundry", seems to be a popular phrase among my friends.

We probably wouldn't hate it so much if our laundry room looked like this:

But most of us won't confess that our laundry room looks like this:

As I have read about many laundry systems the common theme is to actually have a 'system'.

Systems:

Different baskets marked for TOWELS, WHITES, DARKS, LIGHTS, or however you prefer.

Colored baskets for each member of the family. When the laundry is clean you can sort it into each basket and drop it off in their room.

Delegate. Mom= girls clothes and blankets, Dad= Towels and Boy clothes

We must come to terms with the fact that we will do laundry for the rest of our lives. Lets make it as pleasant as possible. Go pick out some pretty colors for your laundry baskets. Sort the gigantic pile that has been haunting you for a week and make it look manageable and even pretty.

I'd love to hear some ideas about how you tackle your laundry.

Oatmeal EverDaily!

If you look at meal plans of athletes, they almost always have oatmeal once or even twice a day.

There are so many benefits to oatmeal. But, most of us care about how it's going to help us fit into that pair of jeans that you try on every morning with a prayer in your heart.

Why Oatmeal?
1. Boosts your metabolism, makes your body work hard to break it down
2. Slowly digests, leaving you fuller for longer
3. Fiber, moves everything else through the system

When should I eat it?
1. First thing in the morning
2. After a workout

How should I eat it?
1. 1/2cup with 1 cup water. Microwave 2 minutes
add 1tsp. Splenda and some cinnamon to taste.

2. Add a scoop of protein powder to recipe #1 (after you cook it)
Chocolate oatmeal is so YUMMY!

3. Perfect for Post workout Meal:
Blend 1/2 cup oatmeal in a blender to make a fine powder
then blend it into your protein shake, put a little extra water.
Don't try to chug it. You don't taste the oatmeal at all, just adds a little thickness to the shake.

Plus, Oatmeal is Cheap!

Enjoy a bowl of Oatmeal this morning!

If you don't believe me about Athletes eating it daily check out the meal plans at BODYFORLIFE-TRACKER.COM

How do you like your oatmeal?

Monday Mompreneur

Do you have a business idea? Monday Mompreneur is for you.
Tips on how to go from idea to a real product and a real business.

How do I get started?

"JUST DO IT"
"FAKE IT 'TILL YOU MAKE IT"

Both are true, you have to simply, START.

In the beginning of Peek-a-Boo Stuff, we had a local sewing company do up a sample for us to get a quote. Then we took that 'ugly' sample around to toy stores and after explaining all the changes that would be made to the actual product, we took orders. We didn't know how much to sell them for, we didn't know when we could have them delivered by, we didn't even know what color they would be. But, we had orders and some stores paid half upfront, so we had money to start.

1. You have an Idea
2. Make it, have someone make it, Google where to have it made locally.
3. Show it to your friends
4. Sell it: Craft Boutique, County Fair, Home Show

IN THE BEGINNING, DON'T...

1. Waste money on business cards/handouts
2. Web design- use a blog
3. Fancy Booth display- borrow stuff
4. Waste time setting up your office
5. Waste time creating the 'perfect' product

Art Gallery Outlet, Utah, started by selling paintings in the corner of parking lots. They had 1 type of frame to choose from. They learned from someone who had worked with the supplier previously. They advertised by holding signs walking up and down the street. They made a profit during their first sale!!!

Blush Topless Undershirts had an innovative fashion idea. They had product made at a local sewing manufacturer and launched at a local Baby Expo. They immediately sold over 400 pieces.

GOOGLE will be your best friend.

If you have a business idea or question please let me know.

Much Success, Marcella
